American Crafts October Gallery - Love the Fall

Hi everyone!

I am back sharing more October Gallery layouts today for American Crafts using their brand spanking new Autumn Crisp Collection.  When this collection arrived on my doorstep I squealed.  Fall is my favorite season - and the colors, textures and embellishments in this collection are amazing!

Love The Fall Layout

My inspiration for this layout started by cruising the Silhouette store for some fun fall files.  When I am stuck on a project or just don't know where to begin, I often start there.  I found this amazing speech bubble title and these cute fall leaves there.

To give my leaves some texture, I ran them through my sewing machine, and left some of the threads hanging for a fun look.

I love the colors in this collection.  That beautiful pink gave me an excuse to try out a new spray mist that I picked up from October Afternoon called Pink Balloon (I think it is going to become a favorite of mine).  To complete the look I added some wood buttons, photo overlay, wood paperclip and fall leaves.

Also, I have a second layout to share with you today.  I couldn't pick just two layouts to share for the American Crafts October gallery so I made three.  To see my other gallery post go here.

Exploring Fall

I loved this photo that I had of my BichPoo Roxy walking around in the fall leaves and decided that it was perfect to use with the Autumn Crisp collection.

I cut the leaf, title and circular doilies using my Silhouette Cameo and then used the doilies as a mask to get my layout started.  I also handstitched around them using embroidery floss.

So Fun!

Thanks for stopping by today and letting me share my gallery layout.  If you love Fall as much as I do then this collection is a must have for you!

Have a good one!

American Crafts October Gallery - Me And You

Me and You

Hi there!  I am so excited to share today's layout, because it incorporates two of my favorite things - large photos and the Polka Dot Party collection from Dear Lizzy!  I really love the soft colors in this collection and all of the fun embellishments...

Because I was working with such a soft photo, I decided to keep the embellishments at a minimum.  I love those resin flowers, and all of the fun wood veneer pieces in this collection.

Along the bottom of my photo I added a small strip of vellum and stitched it down.  I love how it adds to the soft look.

To finish the layout I added a few of the die cuts included in this collection.  I just love the way it all came together!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Weekend Recap and More...

Wow, is it really the end of the week already?  How did it go by so fast.   This last week has been so busy for me that I just lost track of time.

Last Thursday I had two of my favorite peeps come to stay with me.  Michelle flew in from Southern California and Suzy drove up from the Bay area to spend the weekend with muah.  I am so thankful to have such good friends.  We always have the best time together and last weekend was no different.  We spent Friday and Saturday at Its all about the Scrapbook where we hosted a fun crop together and Suzy taught a fun class.  Then, on Sunday I took the girls to Old Sacramento where we did some shopping, dining and did a fun photo shoot:

Upon getting their we realized that my tripod was broken (I have a 14 year old daughter to thank for that).  So we had to improvise (thank goodness Suzy is an amazing photographer and she can run fast).

I had such a great time with my girls, I always enjoy their company.  They left on Monday, then I had to immerse myself in classes.  I am going back to work this Fall for Canon.  The marketing company that I used to work for contacted me about another job opening in my area.  It is not the same position as before, but luckily I still get to work with Canon and will be working hands on this time with their cameras.  The position is part time but will pick up to full time around the holidays, so I will not be blogging as regularly as I do now during November and December.

Halloween Mantel Decorating with American Crafts...

Earlier this week I shared a layout using the new American Crafts exclusive for Target Halloween collection.  To see that post you can go here .

Today, I would like to share another project made from the product that was sent to me.

Each year I love decorating the house for Halloween with lots of spooky items and Fall decor.  To pull my fireplace mantel together this year I used the American Crafts banner kit, and labels.

I used leftover papers that I had from Halloween paper pad that was sent to me to put together this spooky tree.  I simply ran the papers through my Silhouette Cameo and cut out a few spooky bats to complete the look.

This Halloween Banner kit was so simple and fun to use that my daughter helped me put it together.  To add an extra little pizzazz to it, I backed each letter (that is included in the kit) with coffee filters before gluing them on to the banner.  It added some texture and dimension (two things I love).

Make sure you check out your local Target store to get some of these fun exclusive supplies :)
